What is a Parent Advisory Council (PAC)?

posted Sep 15, 2009 6:26 AM by Wams PTO   [ updated Sep 8, 2010 9:03 AM ]

This is a committee of parents, hosted by the Principal, which meets once a month (usually the Third Wednesday of each month) to discuss school wide issues that arise during the school year.  Members include the PTO Executive Board and four parents per grade. Appointments to PAC continue throughout the three middle school years. Four, sixth grade representatives are appointed each year. Periodically a parent from seventh or eighth grade chooses to drop out, so it is worthwhile submitting your name if you are interested in participating.

You MUST chair a committee to be eligible for PAC.  Parents are encouraged to contact PAC members, during the school year, with any questions or suggestions to be discussed in the closed meetings.  Parent questions and/or comments are strictly anonymous.
